2/25/2017     This tune is the most recorded and most sung song that exists in the Spanish language. Vasquez wrote and performed the song for the first time at age 15.  Said to have begun playing the piano at age 4, she would go on to become a concert pianist, songwriter, and recording artist.  

     There is some confusion as to what year she was born, 1916 or 1924.  During her amazing life, she was elected to the Mexican Congress, was Vice President of CISAC International Confederation of Authors and Composers Societies, and served as President of the SACM, Society of Authors and Composers of Mexico.
