S.O.D. "Wheel of Fortune" by Kay Starr

2/24/2017     More than 20 versions of this song exists with Starr taking her 1952 release to number one and remaining on the charts for 22 weeks.  Song writers George Weiss and Benny Benjamin wrote the tune in 1951 and it became theme song from the TV series "Wheel of Fortune." She made a ton of records and was successful in every genre she tried.  Starr's roots were in jazz and Billie holiday said of her, "the only white woman could sing the blues."
