S.O.D. "Breathe" by Faith Hill

9/25/2015     In the history of the Billboard Hot 100, only three songs made #1 on the year-end chart without ever holding the #1 spot during that year.  The first was "Wooly Bully" in 1965, "Breathe" in 1999 and in 2001, "Hanging by a Moment (talk about your coincidences) by Lifehouse.  It did however land the #1 spot on 3 other US charts, in Canada, charted in 5 other countries and in 2009 was named the 27th most successful song of the 2000s by Billboard.  In 2000 the single won 4 awards including a Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance.  

     The tune was written by singer/songwriters Holly Lamar and Stephanie Bentley and produced by Hill and Byron Gallimore who has been producing in the world of country music for two decades, being nominated for 48 awards and winning 17.  

     Born Audrey Faith Perry, 1967 in Ridgeland, Mississippi, she has been active since 1993, also playing guitar, producing, and part-time actress.  In 2006 she toured with husband Tim McGraw on their Soul2Soul ll Tour.  This became the highest grossing country tour of all time. In 2009 she was named the #1 Adult Contemporary artist of the 2000 decade. in the music video things get heated up as she gets sexy and sultry, singing on a bed in the desert covered only buy a sheet.
