S.O.D. "The Legend of Wooley Swamp" by The Charlie Daniels Band
7/26/2015 This story has alligators, mean ol' boys, mason jars full of money, quicksand and a ghost. And in case you're wondering, yes it is fiction. It ranked on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart and the Billboard Hot 100. It was written pretty much by every member in the band and released in 1980 from their album "Full Moon" which later went platinum.
Daniels himself has been performing more than 60 years and has been featured on many albums with other artists including providing the fiddle playing on the Marshall Tucker Band's early albums and playing electric bass guitar on 3 of Bob Dylan's albums in 1969 in 1970. He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in 2008 and the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2009.
