7/25/2016 This song was written by songwriter Will Jennings and the late great musician and composer, Joe Sample who was a part of the Jazz Crusaders. Crawford and the Crusaders performed the tune "Street Life" together which was featured in the 1981 movie "Sharkey's Machine" starring Burt Reynolds and the 1997 film with Pam Grier, "Jackie Brown." Check out "Street Life" when you can. It's a lengthy tune but you be rocking.
She was born Veronica Crawford in 1952, Macon, Georgia and got her big break singing with George Benson and Cannonball Adderley in the 70s, New York. This is one of her better tunes going to #2 in the UK and #1 in the Netherlands. She is in her 41st year of music and to date has released 17 albums and 33 singles. Her last three albums included Joe Sample on piano and keyboards.
