S.O.D. "Write About Love" by Belle and Sebastian
7/26/2016 How about a seven piece Scottish indie pop band. In fact they're only genre is indie pop. They came together in Glasgow, Scotland in 1996 and are still active with a performance at the Glastonbury Festival in Somerset, England in 2015. This is the largest Greenfield festival in the world, drawing nearly 180,000 fans and features not only music but also cabaret, theater, comedy, and much much more.
The group founded their name from the television version of the French novel "Belle et Sebastien," written by Cecile Aubry. Their second album "If You're Feeling Sinister" was placed on the 100 Greatest Albums Between 1985 and 2005 list by the bi-monthly U.S. music magazine, Spin. Their first album, "Tigermilk" was the result of their success with demos at Stow College in Glasgow where students are allowed one single each year for the music business course. Electric Honey, the college's record label, was so impressed they allowed the group a whole album.
They are led by guitarist, pianist and vocalist Stuart Murdoch. This song is from their 2010 album of the same name and shows off of the vocals (background) of English actress Carey Mulligan. In 2010 they performed the song on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
