S.O.D. "Love Hurts" by Nazareth
6/26/2015 The Everly Brothers first released this tune in 1961 under the country genre with not much success. Therefore we will go with the more rocking sound of Nazareth who made it an international hit. Originally written by Boudleaux Bryant who was married to Diadorius Bryant. This husband and wife country/pop songwriting team created such hits as "Rocky Top," "All I Have to Do Is Dream" and "Bye Bye Love". They were born in the 1920s, have since passed on and were considerably ahead of their time.
Roy Orbison recorded the first hit version of the tune followed by many other artists including Cher, Emmylou Harris, Triumph, Joan Jett, Don McLean and Rod Stewart just to name a fraction. Aside from Nazareth taking the song to #1 in the Netherlands and Norway and ranking high in many other countries, Jim Capaldi of Traffic made it a big success in the UK. Nazareth is a Scottish rock group.
