S.O.D. "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin
6/10/2016 Is it time to get the Led out? Of course it is. This incredible hard rock/progressive rock/Symphonic rock song is considered by many to be the ultimate Zeppelin tune, including the bandmembers. After it's release in 1975, it was played, as far as we know, at every concert, with Plant often improvising the lyrics and switching verses which is what he is known for. From their 6th album "Physical Graffiti", the song was written over a period of three years by Page and Plant with input from Bonham.
Other versions were also composed including "Driving Through Kashmir", again by Page and Plant with a few mixing differences, and was released in 2015 as part of the remastering of all nine albums. In 1994 a live version appears on the album "No Quarter: Jimmy Page and Robert Plant Unledded", in which they used an orchestra and Egyptian musicians. Go ahead and do some further reading on this astounding musical achievement.
