S.O.D. "Gods of Wrath" by Metal Church
6/10/2015 Heavy, thrash, power, and speed. These are the four kinds of metal music depicting this band and most of their music. You really need to be a fan of metal to like almost every track except for this song which has clean, catchy rhythms, vocals you can understand and fluent solos. Some say it is even a bit commercial, but it really isn't. The group has released 10 studio albums and one live LP.
Before they were signed to Electra Records, they independently sold over 70,000 copies of their debut album "Metal Church". Kurt Vander who remained the groups constant creative force throughout its entire career stepped down from the performing level in 1986, but remained the group's main writer and composer. He is now the lead guitarist once more.
Critics have credited the group with being a formative influence to the thrash metal sub-genre, blending American hard rock with the aesthetics of the new wave of British heavy metal, showing "piercingly screeched vocals" and "incredible tight musicianship".
