S.O.D. "Perfect Situation" by Weezer

5/11/2015     This Dec 2005 release from their album "Make Believe" outlasted the first single from the album,  "Beverly Hills".  It stayed at #1 for 4 weeks on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks.  Lead singer and guitarist Rivers Cuomo wrote the song two different ways with the radio edit being eight seconds shorter than the album version. The chorus on the radio version is also reworked.  During the 2005 tour promoting the album, the crowd was urged to sing along and surprisingly sang the radio version.  I guess more fans listen to the radio then actually have the album.  

     For the 2005 music video, actress Elisha Cuthbert plays the lead singer for a fictional predecessor band called Weeze. She is eventually replaced by Cuomo.  Just as in their Beverly Hills video, Weezer invited their fans to be casted as extras.  Weezer was formed in Los Angeles in 1992 and have changed their lineup three times since. They have sold more than 9 million albums in the US and over 17 million worldwide.
