S.O.D. "Peace Pipe" by Cry of Love

5/11/2016     The song is obviously about the Indians defending their land against the white man, one of the lyrics being "the peace pipe, it ain't smoking."  It was a #1 hit for the Hard rock/Southern rock group in 1993.  Together less than a decade, 1989-1997, they released 2 albums and 4 singles.  Supporting their first album "Brother" which contained this single, they completed a 17 month tour between 1993–1994.

After their disbandment, the members were recruited by successful groups including Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Black Crowes and Sheryl Crow's touring band.  Cry of Love was formed in Raleigh, NC.
