S.O.D. "Boom Boom (Out Go the Lights)" by Pat Travers

5/12/2015     The audience is always a part of this tune which was released as a live single in 1979.  It is from the album, "Live! Go For What You Know".  Travers is a Canadian songwriter, vocalist and musician playing guitar and keyboards and has never taken a hiatus making 2016 his 40th year of entertaining.  His inspiration came at 12 years of age seeing Jimi Hendrix perform in Ottawa.  

     While he was playing with the band Merge in Quebec clubs, he was noticed by music legend Ronnie Hawkins who extended an invitation to Travers to perform with him. In his early 20s he moved to London and signed a recording contract with the Polydor label.  In 1978 the Pat Travers Band was born and began to tour heavily, opening for the supergroup Rush on their tour to support "A Farewell to Kings".  

     During his career he has made 36 studio albums, 8 compilation albums and released 21 singles.  In 1990 he sang on Boston heavy-metal group Extreme's hit single "Get the Funk Out".
