S.O.D. "Don't Let Him Know" by Prism

6/3/2016      The successful Songwriting team of Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance composed this 1981 #1 hit.  Vallance, a multi instrumentalist, was the original drummer of this Canadian rock group.  With Adams, and on his own, Vallance has written tunes for many popular artists including Aerosmith, Tina Turner, Joe Cocker, the Scorpions, and many others.

Prism formed in 1977 in Vancouver, a mix of musicians from two former Canadian bands, Seeds of Time and Sunshyne.  Vallance actually left the band in 1978 which put some stress on the remaining members as far as Songwriting.  They did all right though as their next album, Armageddon released in 1979 went double platinum. Bryan Adams had a writing credit on three of the tunes.

In all, the group made 13 studio albums and released 19 singles. Their first single, "Spaceship Superstar," was used as the wake up music for the space shuttle Discovery crew members on March 6, 2011.  This band is still active with only a three-year hiatus between 1984 and 1987.
