S.O.D. "Dead Man's Party" by Oingo Boingo

5/22/2016     "I hear the chauffeur coming to my door/says there's room for maybe just one more."  In this case the chauffeur is a hearse driver, hence "Dead Man's Party."  Lead singer and multi instrumentalist, Danny Elfman wrote the 1986 release which captures the genres of new wave and ska.  Elfman is married to retired actress Bridget Fonda.  The song is from the album of the same name and is well known for appearing in the 1986 film, "Back to School" starring Rodney Dangerfield. The band is actually seen performing the song in the movie.

It is based on a short story published in 1906 by Pall Mall Magazine and written by E.F. Benson, describing a hearse driver and the catchphrase "room for one more."  The group was active from 1972–1995, have released eight albums and had their music featured in 19 films.  They were also known as The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo, Clowns of Death, and Mosley & the B-Men Boingo.
