S.O.D. "Nothin' but a Good Time" by Poison
5/23/2015 Here's a party song for the holiday weekend. Featured numerous times in the media, it is certainly a feel-good song and has been used in many films, for professional wrestling tag teams, videogames, TV series and as the Washington Capitals hockey team's victory song. It was written by the entire band and is the 2nd single off their 1988 album "Open Up and Say Ahhh". The glam rock/hard rock tune charted in Australia and the US peaking at #6. The music video is pretty decent as hard rock somehow helps the restaurant dishwasher get his dishes done and puts the overbearing boss in his place.
From the mid-80s to the mid 90s, Poison achieved outstanding commercial success and would eventually sell over 45 million albums worldwide and 15 million in the US alone. Their 2nd album "Open Up and Say Ahhh" was there most successful, going multiplatinum. Multiplatinum status was also achieved with their first album "Look What the Cat Dragged In". They also charted 10 singles in the top 40 with six going to the top 10. Climbing above everything however was their number one hit "Every Rose Has Its Thorn". They have won a few awards for best song, best album and best individual performance. In 2012 VH1 rank them as the #1 Metal Hair Band of All Time.
