S.O.D. "You Belong To Me" by Carly Simon
4/8/2015 Written by Carly Simon and singer/songwriter Michael McDonald, who first recorded the song in 1977 with his band the Doobie Brothers. Simon recorded it a year later for her album "Boys in the Trees". It was the lead single on the album and climbed to #6 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart remaining on the charts for 18 weeks. In 1979 Simon won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Female Vocalist.
The tune has appeared in a few films and has been recorded by many artists including Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Jennifer Lopez and Finnish singer, Maarit who recorded the song in Finnish. A number of awards have come Simon's way including the Boston Music Awards Lifetime Achievement. She was the first artist in history to win a Grammy, Golden Globe and Academy Award for a song both written and performed by a solo artist. I would have to also say, remarkable and unique beauty.
