S.O.D. "Cars" by Gary Numan

4/5/2016     A talented guy here who did most of his own writing, musicianship, vocals and producing.  He kept a band around as well.  As a teenager he was a bit violent, having no problem telling people how he felt by screaming at them and breaking things.  After his marriage in 1997 to Gemma O'Neill, a member of his fan club, she discovered that Gary had Aspergers syndrome after reading about the condition.  Chances are it helped with his musical abilities.  

     Born in March 1958, Hammersmith, England, he began his musical career in 1977 as the lead singer for the new wave band, Tubeway Army with whom he released two albums.  Numan is best known for this song and his #1 British hit "Are Friends Electric." Aside from vocals, guitar and synthesizer are to his credit as well as being considered one of the pioneers of electronic commercial music.  To this day he still plays to a loyal following.
