S.O.D. "Black Horse & The Cherry Tree" by K.T. Tunstall

1/21/2015     There is a song of the same name by Bo Diddley.  Tunstall gets the writing credit for this one but does use the signature Bo Diddley beat.  Under the genres of Folk Blues, Indie Rock & Blue-Eyed Soul, it made the charts in 12 countries, ranking #1 in the U.S.  In Canada it went platinum.  Two awards came from the 2005 release.  Best Single for 2005 and a Grammy for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.  She has also been awarded the Brit Award for Best British Female Artist and the Ivor Norvello Award for Best Song.

     Tunstall has been active since 2000.  Lately she is taking a shot at making music for movie soundtracks.  She is also working on her fifth studio album.  Her first name is Kate and she goes by KT which she took from KT Impact, the event that wiped out the dinosaurs.  Tunstall is of Scottish-Japanese descent.
