S.O.D. "Thunderbuck Ram" by Mott the Hoople

1/21/2016     Well this certainly happened in threes. Terence Dale "Buffin" Griffin, drummer and a founding member of the group, passed on to Rock Heaven on January 17.  Aside from percussion, Griffin was also a vocalist and record producer and worked with groups like the Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana in this capacity.  Before forming British group Mott the Hoople, he was in several groups and along the way and earned the nickname "Buffin."

David Bowie was a big fan of the Hoople and not only wrote their biggest hit, "All the Young Dudes," but also persuaded them to stay together during a near break up.

They rocked from 1969–1980, released 11 studio albums and 25 singles.  Their 3 reunion dates in October 2009 at the Hammersmith Apollo in London were sold out.  In honor of Mr. Griffin, take some sticks and bang on something today!!
