 At 35 years old, this musical prodigy has already been named as a professor of music at Harvard.  In her hometown of Portland, Oregon at age 5, she was playing violin in the Chamber Music Society of Oregon.  Active since 2000, her main instruments are bass, double bass, guitar and vocals. A few awards are to her credit, including a Grammy for Best New Artist.  Spalding is the first jazz artist to win this award.
