S.O.D. "Universal Soldier" by Buffy St Marie

8/9/2018      Aside from being awarded 12 doctorate degrees, this multi instrumentalist, actress and social activist has been bestowed with so many awards, you must see for yourself.  In 1997 she founded the Cradleboard Teaching Project which focuses on the enrichment, self awareness and education of Native American children. She financed this project with funds from another nonprofit that she started for Native Americans.  She wrote this song in the early 60s and then released it from her first album, "It's My Way."  St. Marie says of the song, "it's about the individual responsibility of war and how the old feudal thinking kills us all."
