S.O.D. "That's Not My Name"by The Ting Tings

9/13/2016     Multi instrumentalists Katie White and Jules De Martino make up this multi-genre twosome from Manchester, England.  They have been active since 2007 and pulled out an international hit with this 2008 indie pop/new wave/dance rock release that charted in 15 countries, taking the #1 spot in the UK and Ireland.  The song basically received good reviews not to mention a ton of social media spots including TV, film and commercials.  The premise has to do with White's continuing frustrations with the record company.  

     The duo has completed three studio albums and 10 singles with this tune being their best work, from the album "We Started Nothing" which also ranked #1 in the UK.  They have been nominated for quite a few awards, winning 9, including best UK act in 2008.
