S.O.D. "Anniversary Song" by Cowboy Junkies

8/10/2016      That's right it's anniversary time.  My 15th wedding anniversary to be exact.  If the S.O.D. turns out to be a major publication, would it be wrong to talk about personal things when we should be discussing music?  Well I imagine you will get used to it.  The Junkies have released 17 studio albums and 19 singles.  They boast a diverse range of genres from alternative country to psychedelic rock.

Originating in Toronto, Canada in 1986, the founding members are the Timmins siblings,  Margo-vocals, Michael-guitartist and Peter-drums.  Alan Anton rounds out the group on bass.  The Timmins are related to one of the founding fathers of Canadian mining, Noah Timmons 1867–1936.

In 1990 and 1991 at the Juno Awards they were nominated for Group of the Year.  About the same time, Margot was named by People Magazine as one of the 50 most beautiful people in the world.  Off the top of their head they came up with the band's name minutes before their first gig.
