S.O.D. "Hot Line" by The Sylvers

8/20/2016     Back to the days of disco for this international hit by a family band.  Released in 1976, it has to do with a man willing to do whatever it takes to get in touch with the girl that he believes he was meant to be with. This takes place over the phone with an operator.  Have more people done something like that after hitting the sauce or straight?  We will never know.  

     On the charts, it made the Top 10 on three U.S. charts, New Zealand, and Canada where it took #1.  It also ranked on 4 Year-end charts.  Nine siblings made up this R&B/soul/disco vocal group from Los Angeles. They were active from 1971-1985, creating 11 albums and 22 singles.  Artists they have worked with include Sister Sledge, Starland Vocal Band, The Jackson 5 and others. There are 10 siblings in all.
