S.O.D. "All Star" by Smash Mouth

8/20/2015     You may remember this tune from the movies "Shrek" and "Mystery Men."  It had quite the heyday with many other films and a ton of video games.  Primary songwriter and guitarist for the group, Greg Camp, wrote this masterful combination of rock, pop and punk which charted in 11 countries that included taking the #1 spot on two U.S. charts and #2 on another. It also hit #2 in Canada and #4 in Australia, ending up on 4 Year-end charts.  

     The group formed in 1994 in San Jose, California and has produced a number of successful cover tunes including the Monkees "I'm a Believer", the Beatles "Getting Better", and Disney's "I Wan'na Be Like You."  "All Star" is from the album "Astro Lounge" which eventually went triple platinum.  I have a twisted tune for this one.
