S.O.D. "Walk Away" by The James Gang
8/14/2015 Going to #51 on the Billboard Hot 100, it was the best ranking of a James Gang single. From there 3rd album "Thirds," the last album to feature Joe Walsh on guitar, the album reached Gold status in July of 1972. The Gang had a tough time getting started and got their big break in 1968 opening for Cream at a Detroit concert. Then in 1970 Pete Townsend from The Who was impressed with them and invited them to be the opening act on their Fall United Kingdom tour. They originated in Cleveland, Ohio in 1966 and disbanded in 2012 after five hiatuses. Their other big hit is Funk #49, also with Walsh on guitar.
