S.O.D. "Turn Up the Radio" by Autograph

7/30/2015      Now a staple of 80s mainstream metal, this song was added to the album at the last minute. The RCA label believed that the tune had no commercial value and added it to the track list only due to the band's insistence that it would make a difference.

Written by all members of the group, it was released in 1984 and ranked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #17 on Billboards Mainstream Rock Tracks.  VH1 ranked it at #93 on their list of the Top 100 Hard Rock Songs and lead guitarist Steven Lynch took Guitar Solo of the Year awarded by Guitar Player Magazine in 1985 for his work on the tune.

This American heavy-metal group formed in 1983 in Pasadena California, took a couple of hiatuses and are still active today.  Back to back heavy-metal S.O.D.s, can you handle it?
