S.O.D. "Jungle Gym at the Zoo" by Elephant's Memory

7/20/2016      From the 1969 movie soundtrack, "Midnight Cowboy" on which John Barry wrote most of the songs.  Some of you older SOD members may remember this group as the backup band for John Lennon's 1972 album "Some Time In New York City."  They also backed up Yoko Ono on her 1973 album "Approximately Infinite Universe."

There genres are listed as pop/rock, hard rock, psychedelic/garage and rock & roll.  Carly Simon was with the group for about six months and was just one of the many musicians passing through the ranks during their active years of the 60s and 70s.  Most of the songs were composed by the group's clarinetist and saxophonist Stan Bronstein.  Their most popular hit would turn out to be "Angels Forever" in 1974.
