6/6/2015 Aside from the Vandellas' 1963 release, Linda Ronstadt and Phil Collins also didn't notable versions with Ronstadt's acquiring the most popularity and greatest chart success. The songwriting team of Holland – Dozier – Holland composed the tune along with many others favorites during their tenure with Motown 1962–1967, and are responsible for helping to define the Motown sound. Martha and the Vandellas had a string of hit singles, more than 20, including "Dancing in the Street" which was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame and placed on Rolling Stones list of the 500 songs that helped shape Rock and Roll.
