S.O.D. "Howling Wind" by The Alarm

6/28/2016

Ever heard of these guys?  They still have a loyal following.  Becoming popular in the 80s, they opened for U2 and Bob Dylan, gaining decent popularity.  Starting out in Rhyl, North Wales, at first dishing out the punk genre and calling themselves The Toilets.   Quickly becoming interested in rock, they changed their name to The Alarm.  Mike Peters on lead vocals guitar and harmonica is one of the founding members, back with the band present day.

To date they have released 51 albums and 93 singles, some being repeats in different form.  Martin Johnes, historian and author, included the band in his book "Wales Since 1939", stating that the group is an important part of history, having influenced Welsh trends.  Their biggest hit is the 1983 release "Sixty Eight Guns." This tune,

"Howling Wind", is just cool.
