S.O.D. "Sleep Walk" by Santo Farina, Johnny Farina & Ann Farina
6/17/2016 Some inspiration here that you may not know about with the song inspiring the 1968 instrumental, "Albatross" by Fleetwood Mac, composed by Peter Green. Albatross then inspired Lennon and McCartney to write "Sun King" from there album Abbey Road.
The Farina's 1959 release was the last instrumental to take the #1 position on the Billboard Top 40 chart in the 1950s, doing so in September. In 1998 the Brian Setser Orchestra received the Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Performance for their version of the tune. Actually, I picked this song after hearing it played by the great Les Paul. You might want to check that out also.
"Santo & Johnny" where active between 1959-1976 and got their start in Brooklyn New York. This was their biggest hit and considered to be one of the greatest of the Golden Age of Rock and Roll.
