S.O.D. "Prayin' for Daylight" by Rascal Flats

6/19/2015     This is the very first single the band ever released as a group.  The song is special to them not only for this reason but because of the sentimental value it holds for them, saying that it's what's they could play for anyone who wants to know what they're all about.  Released in February 2008, it peaked at #3 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles and Tracks.  It debuted at #60 and stayed somewhere on that particular chart for 31 weeks.  On the Billboard US Country Songs chart it took #14 for the year.

The group formed in 1999 in Columbus Ohio and quickly became popular. Starting in 2000 they signed with Disney Music Group's Lyric Street Records and made seven albums of which all went platinum or higher.  Their studio albums have accounted for 25 singles, 12 of them #1 hits.

The entire group are members of the American Red Cross Celebrity Cabinet Board and have raised and donated millions of dollars to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.  Weekly reader conducted a poll consisting of 2000 children resulting in Rascal Flatts being the sixth most popular act among ages 10-12, the norm being 18-25.
