S.O.D. "Mother" by Pink Floyd

5/10/2015     The story behind the music is one of an overprotective, single mother insisting that her son stay by her side even during adulthood.  The boy, Pink, voiced by Waters, is having the imaginary wall built around him to protect him from the outside world.  His mother, voiced by Gilmour, is only too happy to help.  She is embittered when Pink grows up and falls in love.

After 9/11, this song along with many others was included in the Clear Channel memorandum of songs with questionable lyrics and not usually played by Clear Channel radio stations.  This is a 1979 release written by the band's bassist Roger Waters who plays only acoustic guitar for this tune.  Happy Mothers Day!!!!!
