S.O.D. "Good Times" by The Easybeats

4/10/2015     This version was released in 1968 in Australia.  George Young, Easybeats bandmember and older brother to Malcolm and Angus Young of AC/DC, wrote this tune along with Harry Vanda, Easybeats lead guitarist.  The two became inseparable and produced many albums together including a number of AC/DC albums. They were even inducted into the Aria Hall of Fame together in 1988 which honors legendary performers and composers who have had an impact on Australian music culture.

When the song first played on BBC radio, Paul McCartney immediately called the station for a replay and would often do so in the following days.  In 1987 INXS did a popular cover version of the song which was featured on the soundtrack of the film "The Lost Boys."  This version did well as it charted in the US, UK, and peaked at #2 in Australia.  Between Boxing Day in 1986 and Australia Day in 1987 the INXS version was used to promote the natural Australian made concerts that took place in that time span.  Here are video links for both versions, Enjoy!!!
