S.O.D. "We're Going to Be Friends" by The White Stripes

4/26/2016     Just did a song from these guys last week so this may very well be the biggest repetition you see on the S.O.D.  Well except maybe for the long run of Christmas tunes. Most of us can probably remember worrying about whether we would make any friends in school.  This song really struck me, bringing to memory, past experiences.  The 2002 acoustic rock/folk rock song tells the story of making a friend at the start of the school year.

     It found its way into the  public media spotlight being featured in films, television and for the Lunchbox Fund, which provides daily meals for orphaned and vulnerable school children in towns and rural areas of South Africa.  The song was also performed by the group on the Conan O'Brien show, requested by Conan himself, due to it being one of his favorites.
