S.O.D. "Lost in Emotion" by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam

4/21/2016     Active from 1984-1991, this urban contemporary/freestyle trio consisted of vocalist  Lisa "Lisa Lisa" Velez, guitarist/bassist Alex "Spanador" Moseley and drummer/keyboardist Mike Hughes.  This tune is from their 1987 album, Spanish Fly, which went platinum in the U.S. and gold in Canada.  It was a #1 single along with "Head to Toe," also from this album.  The group has released 17 singles of which ten made the top 10.  

     Lisa Velez was the youngest of 10 children and auditioned for the vocal and producing group, Full Force at age 14.  Full Force is responsible for putting the trio together.  Moseley & Hughes went on to other musical projects and Lisa Lisa took on a solo career, releasing the album "LL77" in 1994 and another in 2009 called "Life 'n Love."
