3/22/2015     One of their most popular songs off of the 1976 album "Jailbreak" and released as a single the same year.  Even more popular, their tune "The Boys Are Back in Town" is also on this album.  In both songs they use their known personification of the "tough guys."

"Jailbreak" has been covered by artists such as Gary Moore, Europe, Jon Bon Jovi, Dropkick Murphys, Blue Oyster Cult and quite a few others.  In the media it has been used in the movies Detroit Rock City and Joe Dirt, video game Grand Theft Auto and on the 5th and 9th season of the Baltimore based series The Wire.  In 2008 it was ranked  #73 by VH1 On the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs of All Time list.

Thin Lizzy was formed in Dublin, Ireland in 1969 by bassist and lead vocalist Phil Lynott and drummer Brian Downey while they were still in high school.  Lynott was the band's leader, front man, and composer of most of the songs.  Although he passed in 1986, he was the first black Irishman ever to achieve commercial success in the field of rock music. He is the lead vocalist in this video.
