S.O.D. "You Can't Stop Rock 'n' Roll" by Twisted Sister

3/21/2015     Yes they are real musicians and yes they are good.  They got their start in 1972 in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ and broke some rules along the way.  VH1 has ranked them at #73 on their list of the 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock.  MTV had a considerable part in building their popularity with constant featured videos of their 1984 hit singles, "I Wanna Rock" and "We're Not Gonna Take It."

Lead vocalist, Dee Snider is quite the colorful front man and was one of a handful of musicians to testify before a Senate committee due to the PMRC, Parents Music Resource Center and their concern with violence against parents and teachers, evident in some of the group's songs.

After a long hiatus, 1989-2003, they are currently active and on their farewell tour "Forty and Fuck It."  Many of the tour's shows are a tribute to drummer A.J. Pero who passed on to Music Heaven on 3/20/2015.
