S.O.D. "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love" by Van Halen
2/21/2016: A 1978 single off their first album written in part by all four band members. Eddie Van Halen originally wrote the beginnings of the tune and didn't consider it good enough to share with the rest of the band. When Sammy Hagar joined the band in the mid 80s there were few songs that he would sing that were formerly sung by David Lee Roth although he didn't mind "Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love".
Brothers Eddie and Alex Van Halen were born in this Nijmegen, Netherlands in The mid 50s, Alex being the oldest by two years. Original singer David Lee Roth was born in Indiana in 1954 and bassist Michael Anthony also born in 1954 is from Chicago. All four are multi talented musicians with David Lee Roth playing guitar, harmonica, saxophone and synthesizer. The band was formed in Pasadena, California in 1972 and consisted of the four members from then until 1985.
Eddie Van Halen is considered one of the most influential guitarists of the 20th century and was ranked #1 in Guitar World magazine of "The 100 Greatest Guitarist of All Time". Opinions certainly do very however as Rolling Stone magazine ranked him at number 70 on their list of 100 Greatest Guitarist. The band continues to make music with Michael Anthony being replaced on bass guitar by Eddie's son Wolfgang Van Halen.
