S.O.D. "I Double Dare You" by Larry Clinton and his Orchestra

2/21/2016 Let's go back to the Victory Records days and 1938 when this famous bandleader recorded a number of popular songs that were of both classical compositions with the air of swing, and instrumental pop numbers. With the former he took the industry by storm, also adding lyrics to the works of Tchaikovsky and others.

Because of a little tune called "The Dipsy Doodle," the group was signed with Paramount Pictures and Vitaphone to a contract that would put them in three films doing what they do best.  This opportunity landed them other film work in 1941.  Sometime in 1943 Clinton join the United States Army Air Forces, trained as a pilot, became an officer and then a flight instructor.

He returned to music in 1948 working in the studio quite often.  He was proficient on trumpet trombone and clarinet and became a dance orchestra arranger in his 20's.  I hope this tune leaves you wanting more of the same.
