S.O.D. "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman" by Carole King

2/2/2015     Written by Carole King, lyricist-Gerry Goffin and record producer Jerry Wexler, the 1967 release was first recorded by Aretha Franklin, who turned it into a soul tune.  Yes, of course it charted well.  Wexler just sort of coined the title when he yelled to King on a NY City street from his car that he wanted her to write a "Natural Woman" song for Aretha Franklin.  Including Franklin and two backup singers, 12 musicians combined to complete the recording.

A few other versions were released, most notably by King herself in 1971 for her international hit album, "Tapestry," which went 10x Platinum in the U.S.  Mary J. Blige and Celine Dion also made successful singles.
