As far as awards and accolades go, he has been honored more than 45 times including the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
Rogers is also a successful entrepreneur, author and actor and has sponsored many racecar drivers. This particular tune topped the charts in the U.S. and Canada and also charted in Spain.
On the today show in September of this year, 2015, he announced that he will conclude his 58 year career with a 2016 retirement tour. At the start of his career he made the switch from rock 'n' roll to country.
