S.O.D. "Us and Them" by Pink Floyd

1/1/2015   Written by Richard Wright as an instrumental for the 1969 film "Zabriskie Point," it was originally titled the violent sequence.  It was however declined by director Michelangelo Antonioni, saying that it was too sad and made him think of church.  The group put the song on hold until the Darkside of the moon when Waters added lyrics and at 7:51 minutes, became the longest song on the album.  The spoken parts in the tune were done by Roger "The Hat" Manifold, who was at the time a roadie for the band.
