S.O.D. "O Tannenbaum" by Vince Guaraldi Trio

12/31/2015     From the 1965 soundtrack of a Charlie Brown Christmas of which the whole album was composed by Vince Guaraldi.  Guaraldi passed on to Music Heaven in 1976 at age 47 possibly from a heart attack or aortic aneurysm.  He composed many a tune for the Peanuts' shows.  The afternoon before he died, he completed the music for "It's Arbor Day, Charlie Brown.

"O Tannenbaum"  was written in 1824 by Ernst Anschutz, who was a German teacher, composer, organist and poet.. The song is based on the Silesian folk song, "Ach Tannenbaum" written by German composer, Melchior Franck.  Yes, it is about the Christmas tree.  A fir in particular.
