S.O.D. "Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard" by Paul Simon
11/5/2014 Who doesn't love Paul Simon, or at least his musicianship? He wrote this 1972 folk rock song and produced it along with producer and engineer, Roy Hallee. Halee's father provided the singing voice for Mighty Mouse.
The tune has to do with 3 boys breaking the law and being seen doing this by the Mama Pajama, who goes to the police. Simon explains in an interview that it didn't make a difference to him what the boys did, something sexual maybe. Many critics and listeners fall to the crime being a drug deal. Make your own conclusion.
It charted in 6 countries, only coming in at #7 in the U.S., unbelievable.
