S.O.D. "Lonesome Standard Time" by Kathy Mattea

11/16/2015     Singer-songwriter and musician, Larry Cordle along with Jim Rushing wrote this country/bluegrass tune that was first released by Kathy Mattea in 1992.  It appeared on her album of the same name and topped out at #11 on the Billboard Hot Country & Tracks chart.  Producing the tune is Brent Maher who has six Grammy-winning records to his credit.  Aside from winning many awards from different musical entities, he is responsible for discovering The Judds and producing all of their albums.  He is also an accomplished songwriter, writing many of The Judds' songs, and currently holds a position on the Board of Directors of the Academy of Country Music.  

     The Vocal Event of the Year Award given by the CMA; Country Music Association in 2000 was for Cordle's tune, "Murder on Music Row" which was released by both Alan Jackson and George Strait.

     Kathy Mattea is a singer-songwriter and guitarist that has been entertaining since 1975.  She has released 17 albums and 41 singles with 17 making the Top 10 and 4 topping the charts.  The Minnie Pearl Humanitarian Award and the Harvard AIDS Institute Leadership Award was bestowed upon her for her tireless work and charity concerning this disease.
