S.O.D. "Four Day Creep" by Ida Cox

8/31/2023 This singer and vaudeville entertainer came from the bare minimum to achieve her success. Three years, 1888, 1894, and 1896. These are her three possible birth years. She grew up, working on the plantation (not a slave) of a wealthy family with her parents, and joined the church minstrel group at a very young age, then leaving at the age of 14 to tour with White and Clark’s Black & Tan Minstrels. A huge success, and independent businesswoman, she was one of the few black women to own and manage a business, and write her own songs in that era.

S.O.D. "Sally Cinnamon" by Stone Roses

8/29/2023 This 1987 Madchester/jangle pop tune climbed to #3 on the UK singles chart. It was the group’s 2nd single, but did not show up on the debut album. The genre, Madchester developed in the late 80s in the English town of Manchester, and was more of a musical and cultural development, rather than a genre. The Stone Roses ceased their musical activities in 2017. They also physically trashed a record label, cool!

S.O.D. "Any Road" by George Harrison

8/25/2023 Quite the cast of musicians took place in the recording of this song. Mr. Harrison called on his son Dhani, who is mainly working on scores for television and film, longtime family friend, Jeff Lynne of ELO, and a member of The Traveling Wilburys, and James Keltner, one of the greatest session drummers of our time. This is the last released song of Harrison’s career.
