8/22/2023 Incredibly enough, this is not a released single, and shows up on the 1976 album, “Royal Scam.” The jazz/rock group has been active since 1971. They take their name from the novel, Naked Lunch by William S Burroughs, which is quite amusing, and definitely something worth looking up.
8/21/2023 This is old-school hip hop. The Bronx, New York group was active from 1981-1991. The title “The Roof is On Fire” has been sampled by many artists.
8/20/2023 Out of Philadelphia, this five piece doo-wop group recorded some decent singles. They establish themselves at Overbrook high school in 1957 and disbanded in the mid 70s. It is a tiny fraction of musical groups that stay together after forming in high school.

8/18/2023 Burdon, and drummer Barry Jenkins put together the new lineup of The Animals, and proceeded to record their first album, “Winds of Change,” in 1967. Critics mark the album a success not only for the musical content, but the lyrical genius that keeps up with the present day changes of that era, and even go beyond.

8/12/2023 This Brooklyn, New York band was active between 1997 and 2003, playing indie rock, and emo. Emo is hard-core punk and post hard-core, featuring mainly emotional lyrics. They released three studio albums, and took their name from a poster in the 1961 film, Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
8/11/2023 This man was genius on guitar, banjo, and fiddle. He enjoyed a 71 year career before passing in 2018. Clark helped to popularize country music and was an influence to numerous artists. When his name is heard, many of us think of the country comedy variety show, Hee Haw, which aired from 1969-1997. His skills are truly dazzling. Here he is with The Odd Couple.

8/8/2023 Here we have pure grunge. Released in 1994, the song won a few awards in its Australian homeland. Inspiration for the song comes from a TV show where a rich person has to spend the day with a poor person, living that life, and not being able to get out until the next day. We need more of that with longer time periods.
8/7/2023 Active since 2015, Alice Florence Clarissa Merton found huge success with this debut single. Charting in 20 countries, it landed in the top 10 in 14, and three #1 spots, including Ukraine. She was born in Germany in 1993, moved frequently with her family as a child, and made it back to Germany in her teens. Merton has a bachelors degree in composition and songwriting.
8/6/2023 This singer songwriter and musician from Charleston, West Virginia is someone to keep your eye on. Her genre influences have varied greatly, growing up on 90s music, specifically punk, and grunge. Alternative country, Bluegrass, and Americana are her listed genres, but listen closer when you’re listening. Many elements are revealed, including jazz, and Latin. This young lady self released her first two albums.
8/5/2023 This multi genre group got their start in Madison, Wisconsin in 1993. According to drummer, Butch Vig, the band takes its name from the comment, “This shit sounds like garbage,” which was made by a friend of the band after hearing some of their recorded material.
