5/10/2022 How about a tribute for Taylor Hawkins. He left us on March 25, 2022. Hawkins had a hand in this composition. He resided in Hidden Hills, California with his wife and three children. Bandmate and best friend Dave Grohl wrote in his 2021 memoir: The Storyteller, “ my brother from another mother, my best friend, a man for whom I would take a bullet.”

Hawkins suffered from stage fright, but once he was out there, his energy and aura filled the atmosphere. Some of his first influences were Roger Taylor of Queen, Stewart Copeland of The Police, and Phil Collins of Genesis to whom he would listen and study intently. The tributes certainly poured in, including by Elton John and Miley Cyrus, who had both worked with Taylor. Liam Gallagher formally of Oasis dedicated his song “Live Forever” to Hawkins during a concert in London.

Drummer Roger Taylor of Queen dedicated his Order of the British Empire to Hawkins, describing him as “Sunshine in Human Form.” Hawkins was a mentor to Roger Taylor’s son, Rufus who is now a successful drummer. Rest in peace Taylor, we will be playing your music for all eternity.
