Active for 52 years up until his death, he released 45 studio albums and 96 singles, with 32 #1 hits. In 1958 he gave up his seat on the plane that killed buddy holly, the Big. Bopper, and Ritchie Valens. His son, Waylon Albright “Shooter” Jennings carries on his legacy.
